The database now features more than 1,400 entries on Poland, making it the most comprehensive listing of Jewish burial grounds in the Central European country. Sources consulted in the course of the research include pre-war German records for those areas of present-day Poland that used to be under German rule prior to World War II. The project involves co-operation with the Rabbinical Commission on Cemeteries in Poland under the guidance of the country’s Chief Rabbi Michael Schudrich and is co-ordinated by Lo Tishkach Warsaw-based Research Assistant Sebastian Penconek.
