Recent cemetery and mass grave surveys carried out by the Lo Tishkach Foundation in Ukraine co-operation with local partner the Centre for Jewish Education in Ukraine (CJEU) have found many sites urgently in need of care. Fastiv Jewish Cemetery
Restoration Work Needed: 1. The cemetery is surrounded by a wooden fence, which burns often during the dry spring and summer weather. The community would like to change it to metal net fence to protect the territory in the future.

2. There is an ohel on the grave of Rabbi Avraham Malakh, which was moved after WW2 from the old cemetery. It is is in very bad condition: the biggest problem is the roof, which is full of holes. 3. The mass grave within the cemetery is marked by a Soviet-era monument which contains no reference to the Jewish victims that are buried here. The community would like to replace this with a monument with inscriptions in Hebrew and Ukrainian and details of the Jewish victims. More details about this site…
