  • Possible reasons for an unsuccessful search.

How to use the database:

  1. Go to the database search page.
  2. There are several ways on how to search the database: by keyword, ID number, by country, name of the city, cemetery name, or by region and
  3. To search by keyword, enter all or part of the name, city, country or region or district name. Please note that while the country, cemetery, region and county are usually entered in the database only English, here all cities are listed in the local, alternative and former names and can be entered in the search box. Local conventions are used for this purpose, including Cyrillic characters where necessary.
  4. To search for the ID Nummber, enter the cemetery ID which you up at the cemetery or mass grave can be found record. This function is for those who have already seen the cemetery or mass grave report and are provided with an ID number.
  5. Search by country, city name, cemetery name, region or country, you must first select a country from the „Country“ drop-down menu. The page is then loaded and the other menus are the cities, cemeteries, regions and districts show that can only be found in this country. When looking for a particular city, click the arrow on the side of the „City / Town“ menu, and that will bring an alphabetical list of cities, towns and villages in this country.
  6. When you have selected your search criteria, click ‚Search.
  7. If the search was unsuccessful, take a look at the possible causes, and click „Delete“ to delete the page and continue the search.
  8. If the search was successful, this will be a list of cemeteries and mass graves show that meet your criteria. The total number of items (records) you can see on the chart results, as well as the number of pages. To the arrows to the left and right of the page number to move between pages, you use the arrows (expressed as „1 of … .. ‚).
  9. To see a record, click on the name. This will bring you to a page that contains the basic information about the tomb, including name, address, place, date, if it is currently in use, the ID number, links yu Google Maps and all photos and documents.
  10. To view the complete record, including empty fields, click on the link under the Google Maps button. To see the entire contents of the data set, click on the ‚+‘, on the left side of the positions 2-11.
  11. To contribute corrections or further information about a record, note the ID number and then click on the link at the bottom of this page. This will be taken to our online cemetery update form.

Suchtipps:

Um alle Friedhöfe und Massengräber in der Datenbank zu sehen, klicken Sie einfach auf „Suchen“.

Für eine schnellere Suche klicken Sie bei der Drop-Down-Menüs auf den Pfeil auf der Seite des Menüs und geben Sie die ersten Buchstaben des Landes / Stadt / Region etc, ein die Sie suchen. Dadurch werden Sie zur richtigen Seite bringen.

Wenn Sie die „Keyword“ Suchfunktion nicht erfolgreich verwenden, versuchen Sie, nur ein Fragment des Wortes einzugeben. Dies kann ein beliebiger Teil des Wortes sein, und muss nicht von einem anderen Symbol ergänzt werden.

Denken Sie daran, dass in einigen Ländern, vor allem in der Ukraine, gibt es manchmal eine Reihe von Dörfern und Städten mit dem gleichen Namen welche möglicherweise in der gleichen Region sind (Oblast, im Falle der Ukraine). Es lohnt sich, einige Hintergrundinformationen zu erbringen um die Regionen zu erkennen (raion in der Ukraine) um Verwirrung zu vermeiden.

Denken Sie daran, die ID-Nummer zu notieren, wenn Sie bei der Rückkehr zu einem Friedhof oder Massengrab Bericht interessiert sind, denn dies ist der einfachste Weg um den Bericht zu finden.

 

Mögliche Gründe für eine nicht erfolgreiche Suche

Derzeit vollziehen wir Basisdaten über alle europäischen jüdischen Grabstätten auf einer Land-für-Land-Basis. Nur dieLänder, für welche alle grundlegenden Datenfunktionen auf dem Gelände abgeschlossen sind, koennen Sie auf dem Dropdown-Land-Menü überprüfen.

Ihre Suchbegriffe können zu schmal oder zu komplex sein. Versuchen Sie breitere, einfachere Kriterien.

Der Friedhof oder das Massengrab , die Sie suchen können jetzt in das Gebiet eines anderen Landes untergebracht sein. Schauen Sie sich die Angebote für die Nachbarländer an.

Während die Lo Tishkach Projekt alle Anstrengungen unternehmen, um alle Gemeinden / Stadt Namensvariationen zu erwähnen, kann es sein, dass es doch noch Ausahmen hat.

Wenn ein Name nicht erkannt wird, überprüfen Sie die Schreibweise und versuchen Sie den heute bentutzten offiziellen Namen.
