The following Jewish cemeteries and Holocaust mass grave sites in Ukraine urgently require marking or memorialising. CHERKASY OBLAST
Brodetske Mass Grave – Between 243 and 300 Jews were killed here in spring and summer 1942. Plaque required which mentions Jewish victims and a fence.
Buky Jewish Cemetery – A cemetery from the late 18th/early 19th century which requires full demarcation and regular maintenance.
Buky Mass Grave I – The mass grave requires demarcation and a memorial should be erected at the place. The previous memorial obelisk was overturned in 1997-98.
Buky Mass Grave IV – Located next to a labour camp which was liquidated in 1942-43. The site requires demarcation and a memorial.
Buky Mass Grave V – Unidentified site of mass shootings. The mass grave requires demarcation and a memorial should be erected.
Chyhryhyn Jewish Cemetery – This site has been completely demolished and built upon. It requires an identifying marker.
Dolynka Mass Grave – In August 1941, 12 Jewish boys were shot here. The site requires demarcation and a memorial.
Horodysche Jewish Cemetery I – Completely unprotected cemetery which requires a surrounding wall or fence.
Ivanhorod Jewish Cemetery – Dating back to the first half of the 19th century, this site needs to bear identification and should be demarcated.
Ivanhorod Mass Grave – 40 Jews were killed here in July 1942. The site requires demarcation and a memorial.
Ivanky Jewish Cemetery – This site suffers from serious pollution and vegetation threats. It needs to identified and demarcated.
Ivanky Mass Grave – Several hundred Jews were shot here in May 1942. The site requires demarcation and a memorial.
Kamianka Jewish Cemetery – The demarcation of this 19th-century cemetery needs to be completed.
Kaniv Jewish Cemetery – Dating back to the 18th century, this cemetery is still in use but needs to be fully demarcated.
Kaniv Mass Grave – 150 Jews, shot in November 1941, are buried here. The site has a memorial but requires full demarcation.
Katerynopil Jewish Cemetery – This 18th-century site suffers from serious pollution and vegetation threats. It requires demarcation, identification and vegetation clearance.
Konela Jewish Cemetery – This Jewish cemetery from the 19th century lacks clear boundaries and is in a derelict state. Identification, demarcation and maintenance are urgently required.
Konela Mass Grave – The majority of Konela’s Jews were shot here in winter 1942. The site has a memorial but requires full demarcation.
Korsun Shevchenkivskiy Jewish Cemetery – A lot of waste has been disposed of at this 17th-century site. The surrounding fence needs to be completed.
Khrystinivka Jewish Cemetery – Neither identified nor demarcated, this cemetery is in a state of severe neglect.
Ladyzhinka Jewish Cemetery – This site is currently used for agricultural purposes. It requires clear identification and demarcation.
Ladyzhinka Mass Grave – 21 local Jews were shot here in August 1941. The site needs to be identified and demarcated.
Lysianka Jewish Cemetery – Dating back to the first half of the 18th century, this cemetery requires identification, demarcation and maintenance.
Lysianka Mass Grave II – About 30 Jews, required to dig their own graves, were shot and buried here. The site lacks demarcation and a memorial.
Mankivka Mass Grave – 50 local Jews – those not sent to a labour camp – were shot here on March 2, 1942. The sites requires a memorial mentioning the Jewish identity of the victims.
Medvedivka Jewish Cemetery – No gravestones remain at this site which lacks identification and demarcation.
Mliyiv Mass Grave – About 300 Jews were shot and buried here on March 29, 1942. An additional memorial plaque mentioning the Jewish identity of the victims is needed.
Mokra Kalyhirka Jewish Cemetery – Used for animal grazing, this site dates back to the 18th century and needs to be demarcated.
Monastyrysche Jewish Cemetery – This site from the end of the 18th century needs to be demarcated and protected from vegetation overgrowth.
Sarny Jewish Cemetery – This site, dating back to the end of the 18th century, lies in a derilict state. Nearby development is incompatible. It should be fully demarcated.
Shenderivka Jewish Cemetery – Identification and demarcation are required for this site, of which no visible traces remain.
Shpola Jewish Cemetery – This cemetery is used for gardening and its state is unacceptable. It needs to be fully demarcated.
Smila Jewish Cemetery I – The fence around this cemetery from 1848 needs to be completed.
Sokolivka Jewish Cemetery – This site is threatened by pollution. It needs to be identified and demarcated.
Stebliv Jewish Cemetery – No gravestones remain at this site, which is used as a waste dump. It requires identification and demarcation.
Stepantsi Jewish Cemetery – This site, dating back to the 18th century, is used for animal grazing. It needs to be identified and demarcated.
Tahancha Jewish Cemetery – No gravestones remain at this site, which required identification and demarcation and is currently used for residential purposes.
Talalaivka Mass Grave – 263 Jews were murdered on December 13, 1943, near a labour camp. The site requires demarcation and a memorial.
Talne Jewish Cemetery I – Water drainage is a problem at this 18th-century site, constantly disturbing gravestones. In addition, the cemetery requires fencing.
Talne Jewish Cemetery II – This unprotected cemetery is demarcated but requires fencing.
Terlytsia Jewish Cemetery – Lacking physical identification, this site requires a marker and demarcation.
Terlytsia Mass Grave – Between August and September 1941, about 200 local Jews were shot and buried here. The site requires demarcation and a memorial.
Tsybuliv Jewish Cemtery – Used for residential purposes, this site requires an identifying marker.
Tsybuliv Mass Grave I – Between July and September 20, 1941, several hundred Jews were shot and buried here. The site lacks demarcation and a memorial.
Vilshana Jewish Cemetery – This cemetery, were the last burial took place in 1939, requires full identification and demarcation.
Vynohrad Jewish Cemetery – This site is used for agricultural purposes and as a waste dump. It requires an identifying marker, demarcation and clearance of the garbage.
Vorone Mass Grave – In winter 1942, 13 Jews were shot and buried here. The site needs to be identified and requires a memorial.
Yerky Mass Grave – This site requires a plaque mentioning the Jewish identity of those buried here.
Zolotonosha Mass Grave I – On September 22, 1941, 300 Jews from nearby villages were shot at this site, which requires demarcation and a memorial.
CHERNIHIV OBLAST
Bakhmach Jewish Cemetery – Owned by the local municipality, this cemetery is in a good condition. However, vegetation overgrowth is a threat and should be removed regularly.
Berezna Jewish Cemetery – The site, at which one gravestone remains, requires demarcation and signage.
Bobrovytsia Jewish Cemetery – The cemetery has been demolished and all visible traces have been removed. The site requires and identification marker.
Borzna Jewish Cemetery – Some restoration has been undertaken at this site which is owned by the local municipality. However, the cemetery still requires fencing.
Horodnia Jewish Cemetery – At this site, the fence needs to be repaired and excess vegetation removed.
Horodnia Mass Grave I – This marked mass grave site, where 78 Jews were murdered in 1941, lacks a plaque mentioning the Jewish identity of the victims.
Korop Jewish Cemetery – The site requires fencing and annual removal of excess vegetation.
Korop Mass Grave – In 1942, 38 Jews were murdered at this marked mass grave site. A new plaque is however required, mentioning the Jewish identity of the victims.
Kozelets’ Jewish Cemetery – The site requires fencing and annual removal of vegetation overgrowth.
Nizhyn Mass Grave – A plaque is required mentioning that there were many Jews among those killed and buried here in 1942.
Nova Basan’ Jewish Cemetery – The site is derelict and requires identification, demarcation and fencing.
Novhorod-Sivers’kyi Jewish Cemetery – The cemetery needs to be fenced and excess vegetation should be removed at least once a year.
Oster Jewish Cemetery – The overall condition of the site is good, but excess vegetation and garbage need to be removed.
Oster Mass Grave – Located near the Jewish cemetery, this mass grave is the final resting place for about 350 Jews who were murdered here in 1941. The site is marked but requires a plaque mentioning the Jewish identity of the victims.
Pryluky Jewish Cemetery I – The cemetery area needs to be fenced and vegetation overgrowth should be removed annually.
Pryluky Jewish Cemetery II – The Jewish section of this municipal cemetery requires fencing.
Schors Jewish Cemetery – The site is in good condition, but needs to be marked appropriately.
Semenivka Jewish Cemetery – Excess vegetation at the site should be removed at least once a year.
KYIV OBLAST
Baryshivka Mass Grave – Between 90 and 126 people were killed here on either September 21 or November 21, 1941. Plaque required which mentions Jewish victims.
Boiarka Mass Grave – Between 75 and 120 Jewish victims were killed at this site in early 1943. There is also evidence that 10 local Jewish residents were killed here in October 1941. Plaque required which mentions Jewish victims. RESTORED
Dymer Mass Grave – 120 local Jews were shot here just after November 7, 1941. There is no memorial on site or indeed any indication that it is the location of a mass grave.
Fastiv Mass Grave I – 500 Jews murdered on October 6, 1941 were reburied at this site. Plaque required to replace Soviet-era marker which does not mention Jewish victims.
Hrebinky Mass Grave – 37 Hrebinky Jews were shot in the forest on August 26, 1941. Children were thrown into the pit and buried alive. There is no memorial or any indication of the mass grave on site.
Kaharlyk Mass Grave – An unknown number of Jews were killed here in September 1941. The memorial does not mention the Jewish victims.
Makariv Mass Grave – After the Nazi occupation in late July 1941, the first killing of Jews by sonderkommando in the Kyiv region took place here in which 14 Jews were killed. In 1941, some 300 Makariv Jews were killed. The memorial makes no mention of the Jewish victims.
Poliske Mass Grave – 439 Jews were killed and buried here in September 1941 and during 1942. The memorial does not mention the Jewish victims.
Tarascha Mass Grave II – In mid-September 1941, Tarascha’s remaining 200 Jews were ordered to gather in the town’s main square and march to the cemetery where they were shot. The mass grave to the right of the entrance to the cemetery is unmarked and undemarcated. It is used by local residents as a waste dump.
Vasylkiv Mass Grave – Around 200 Jewish victims were shot here in 1941-2. The memorial makes no mention of the Jewish victims.
Yahotyn Mass Grave – Between 160 and 185 Jews were shot here on September 8-10, 1941. The memorial makes no mention of the Jewish victims.

Chabanivka Jewish Cemetery – The site, where weather erosion and vegetation overgrowth are a serious threat, requires an identifying marker, fencing and annual removal of excess vegetation.
Chertezh Jewish Cemetery – This site requires an identifying marker.
Chop Jewish Cemetery – This site requires an identifying marker.
Dubrynychi Jewish Cemetery – This site requires an identifying marker, fencing and annual removal of excess vegetation.
Esen Jewish Cemetery – This site, where vegetation overgrowth is a serious problem, requires an identifying marker and annual removal of excess vegetation.
Haloch Jewish Cemetery – The site requires an identifying marker, fencing and annual removal of excess vegetation, which impedes access and disturbs graves.
Irliava Jewish Cemetery – Annual removal of excess vegetation, fencing and an identifying marker are required at this site.
Kholmets Jewish Cemetery – The site requires an identifying marker and annual removal of excess vegetation.
Khudliovo Jewish Cemetery – An identifying marker is needed at this site.
Korytniany Jewish Cemetery – The site requires and identifying marker and demarcation in order to be protected from nearby incompatible development.
Kybliari Jewish Cemetery -This site requires an identifying marker and annual removal of excess vegetation.
Liakhivtsi Jewish Cemetery – This maintained cemetery requires an identifying marker.
Lintsi Jewish Cemetery – This site requires an identifying marker.
Mala Dobron Jewish Cemetery – This site requires an identifying marker and annual removal of excess vegetation, which is a constant threat.
Mali Heyivtsi Jewish Cemetery – This site requires an identifying marker and annual removal of vegetation overgrowth.
Mynai Jewish Cemetery – An identifying marker, fencing and annual removal of vegetation overgrowth are required at this cemetery.
Nyzhnie Solotvyno Jewish Cemetery – An identifying marker, fencing and annual removal of vegetation overgrowth are required at this cemetery.
