The ‘Erudit’ Secondary School in the Ukrainian town of Tarascha has launched a project to improve access to a local Holocaust mass grave site. Trees have been planted to point the way towards the burial ground, which is located inside a ravine. As part of the project, the school’s pupils learn about the Holocaust and how it led to the destruction of the local Jewish community.

Lo Tishkach Programmes Manager Andreas Becker and Lo Tishkach project partners recently visited the area and met with the school’s principal to discuss the project. They also visited the area of a second mass grave site, which is entirely unmarked. Lo Tishkach has launched a project to mark the site, which is adjacent to the Jewish cemetery. Please contact Lo Tishkach to find out how to help.
