The Lo Tishkach Foundation has completed a report on legislation and practice relating to the protection and preservation of Jewish burial grounds in Ukraine. Teams of Ukrainian students and youth have begun to visit Jewish cemeteries and mass graves in Kiev and Odessa Oblasts as part of a vast educational project to survey hundreds of Jewish burial sites across Ukraine. The cemetery is located in the vicinity of an industrial area and is adjacent to ploughed agricultural fields, which probably impinge upon the cemetery. There are no gravestones or memorials at the site. The Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland (FODZ) is currently preparing the renovation and enclosure of the area. ...Read more »
